A fire broke out on Wednesday afternoon in an apartment on the eighth floor of Brigade-7 Gardens on North Halli Main Road in Bengaluru, causing temporary panic among residents. Fire brigade personnel, who arrived after receiving information about the incident, conducted operations from 12 noon to 4 pm and successfully extinguished the flames. The fire reduced furniture, electronic equipment, clothes, and documents inside the flat to ashes.
The flat owners had lit a lamp in the pooja room that morning before leaving for work, and it is suspected that the fire originated from this lamp. Dense smoke was observed from the building, prompting residents of adjacent flats to alert the fire brigade. The operation faced challenges as the affected flat was located in the middle section of the eighth floor. Police stated that an investigation is underway based on information provided by the flat owners. Officers from the Subrahmanya Puram police station visited the site to inspect the damage.
